Date of departure is 15th April. Route, approximately 3,000 miles - Malvern to Harwich, then Holland, Northern Germany, Poland and Slovakia where I intend to pick up the Danube through Hungary, Serbia, Bulgaria and Romania, and then into Turkey. If all goes well - ferry across to Lesbos mid-July. I would be very grateful for any comments en route, they spur me on. I wasn't aware that so many people read my previous blogs - until I got home!

Ruse to Sumen, and then on to Karnobat
Left Ruse at about 6.45. Long day ahead (70 odd miles) quite hot, and hilly terrain. I've found out the secret to keeping my energy level going in the heat, is stop every 10 -15 miles 1/2 liter of water and a 'banana'. Banana sales have shot up in Bulgaria (and I didn't tell Deiter and Doris!). Arrived Karnobat after very hilly day- 2 quite long climbs) with yet another Thunder storm brewing. Glad to get booked in before the heavens open.

Never mind the bulgarian banana shortage. Europe appears to be falling apart as you cycle along its edge! Flooding on the Danube, riots in Istanbul, Greek state run TV shut down and general strike throughout Greece ( following announcement if your imminent arrival).
ReplyDeletePlague of locusts predicted in Lafionas mid-July!!
You're only jealous!
